I write fanfiction & original fiction, with emphases on sci-fi, fantasy & romance.
I’ve spent nearly two decades lurking within different fandoms as a reader and reviewer of fanfiction (since I was in middle school), but it’s only within the past year that I’ve begun to expose my own ideas to the light of day. Although I published plenty of poetry online as a teen, none of it was ever part of any fandom, and short-form writing of that sort is a much different proposition than long-form, serialized fiction writing.
It’s only until recently that I’ve wrangled my personal knowledge management workflows well enough to reign in the worst of my absentminded and easily distracted predispositions. So far, it’s worked well for me. In about four or five months I’ve written more than 40,000 words for my first fanfic! Which is the whole point of this blog, actually.
I’d like to document this process as I grow into a better long-form writer. I’ve done plenty of copywriting for my job, and plenty of poetry writing in my younger years, but that’s very different from sitting down and writing a whole story. I admire everyone who has the grit to do it, and would like to provide my perspective on the process, as well as any tools I find or make along the way. I’m doing this to help anyone else who just needs that little spark of inspiration to write their own daydreams and musings into existence.
So nice to meet you, whoever happens to look at this! 🖖🏽
